How to read
KAMI, KAN, SHIN, JIN
Gives a divine impression. But at the same time, it’s commonly used for Japanese family names and names of places. For example, Kamiya Kaoru in Ruroni Kenshin’s KAMI uses this kanji.
The left part of the character stands for a table for making an offering to the god. The right part represents lightning and it’s the symbol of supernatural power.
