Hope it helps for your tattoo ideas and designs!

KON = mix, confuse

TON = way is shut up and closed, everything is mixed, foolish

It gives dark, serious, ominous, and mysterious impressions.

The two letters have similar origins.

The first kanji KON’s left part stands for “water”, and the right one does “swarm of bugs”. The whole character represents some water flows are gathering into one point, and that makes the meaning of “mix”.

The second letter TON’s left part is the same one as the KON’s. The right one is different, and it pictures “tied kid’s hair”. The whole symbol represents that a lot of water flows come and are mixed.

You can download the kanji data with transparent PNG format. Each letter is made in 1000px X 1000px. Available for any purposes and no link or credit is needed. Feel free to take it!

    I believe I’m getting some kanji tattooed on my birthday! But I want to make sure my symbolism is correct before I do it. Your site has helped me so much!

    I think I want to get “peace” (hei-wa) and underneath it, “chaos (kon-ton). I want to get both kanji to say how I have both peace and chaos in my life and want to maintain balance between the two. Sort of like a yin-yang type of thing. I’d love to hear your feedback before I get my tattoo.

    Thank you again for all the info you provide on your site!

      Thank you for your kind message! I’m glad if my blog helped you even a bit.
      In Japanese, an antonym for Konton (chaos) is Chitsujo (order, cosmos). So if you want to express conflicting two concepts, I think Chitsujo would make a better combination for Konton letters. Here are the Kanji symbols for Chitsujo. Hope it helps!
