Impressions
This is a kanji symbol with very soft and feminine impressions. Very popular for Japanese first name, especially for girls.
Background
The left part of the character stands for a person and the right one pictures someone hanging its head. The whole symbol represents that a person is staying close to someone in grief and that makes the meaning of “kind”.
Another theory says that the right part stands for a dancer who entertains gods and people. It may be the reason why this YU symbol has the meaning of “elegant” and used for a Japanese word that means “actress”.
