Hi there, it’s Junko from Japan! Why doesn’t Akaza eat women? He even doesn’t kill any women.
The detailed reason wasn’t revealed in Demon Slayer episodes, but I guess it’s deeply related to his past. Akaza seems to be restricted by his human past the most among the Twelve Kizuki, even though he doesn’t remember the days when he was a human.
When Akaza was a human, he had a fiance named Koyuki. He made a promise to her that he would protect her for a lifetime. After that, Koyuki got killed, and the incident caused him to become a demon.
He lost all memory after becoming a demon, but his oath to Koyuki must have been rooted in his heart. For him, a woman was a thing to protect no matter what.
That being said, Akaza would never admit that he regarded women as something he should protect. I suppose he avoided killing women unconsciously by convincing himself that women were weak and didn’t deserve to eat.
Other than not killing women, every word and deed of him appears to be connected to his past and regret. If you want to know more about that, check out the post below!
