Hi there, Junko from Japan here! How strong is Tokito Muichiro? I’ll share some interesting information about his strength among the 9 Hashira members!
According to the extra page in a Demon Slayer comic book, Muichiro ranked 7th in the Hashira arm wrestling ranking and ranked 8th in the Hashira foot speed ranking out of 9 members.
If you focus only on the ranking positions, it may seem law. But Muichiro is still 14 years old and is the youngest swordsman among the current Hashira.
Also, he’s 160cm tall, which is almost equivalent to the height of men in the Taisho era (1912 – 1926), the stage of Demon Slayer. So I think he has rather a good physique for his age.
Muichiro Is a Genius Who Became Hashira in Just Two Months
Muichiro became the Mist Hashira only after two months when he started his training. It generally takes more than 5 years, or at least 2 years, to promote to Hashira.
Yet Muichiro achieved the Hashira position only in two months, which means his incredible potential as a swordsman. This one episode can tell how strong he is and how big the potential for growth he has.
Can Muichiro Use Sun Breathing?
No, he can’t use Sun Breathing. But it’s true that he’s from the lineage of the Tsugikuni family that produced Tsugikuni Yoriichi, the founder of Sun Breathing.
Yoriichi didn’t leave his child but Kokushibo had some children before he became a demon. So to be more precise, I guess the Tokito family had the blood from Yorikatsu’s (Kokushibo’s original name) descendants.
Also, it strongly depends on the individual which Breathing styles they can use. For example, Kocho Kanae used Flower Breathing while Kocho Shinobu is an Insect Breathing user.
So it’s no wonder that Muichiro can’t use Sun Breathing or Moon Breathing. He just was apt for Mist Breathing. Actually, Tanjiro can use Sun Breathing as Hinokami Kagura while he doesn’t have any blood relationship with Yoriichi and Kokushibo.
