Hi, it’s Junko from Japan! Megumi Fushiguro is a major character in the anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, but little is known about his mother. This article aims to shed some light on this mysterious character.
Megumi’s mother has only appeared in one panel in the original manga, in a flashback scene presumably showing her holding a newborn Megumi. Aside from being Fushiguro Toji’s wife, no other details about her have been revealed.

What Happened to Megumi’s Mom?
The cause of Megumi’s mother’s death remains undisclosed. It’s said that she died shortly after giving birth to Megumi. That’s why Megumi doesn’t know what his mother looks like, and his only close relative is his non-biological sister, Tsumiki.
Wondered what happened to her? There’re various theories among Japanese fans regarding her death – some suggest that she may have fallen ill after childbirth, met an accidental death, or even been assassinated by the Zenin family.
However, I think it’s unlikely that she was assassinated. As a non-sorcerer, there would be no merit for the Zenin family to kill her.
If her child was born with a cursed technique, the Zenin family could simply take the child, as seen in the case of Noritoshi Kamo, who was taken in by the main family while his mother was expelled.
As a Fushiguro Toji’s Wife
Megumi’s mother seems to have held a special place in Toji’s heart. Having been poorly treated in the Zenin family, Toji found peace in his days with her.
According to the author, Toji was a “professional moocher” who lived off women, so it’s possible that his meeting with her was one of his parasitic relationships.
But, the fact that he abandoned the Zenin name and took her surname, Fushiguro, as his own, suggests that she was a special existence for him.
This is what we currently know about Megumi’s mother. Although her life and death remain largely a mystery, her influence on both Megumi and Toji is undeniable.
