Junko-san ! こんにちは
Can you suggest me some Japanese names that mean “rain”? Or “midnight rain”
Thank you so much !!!
Konnichiwa, Emilia-san!
Thank you for your comment. In Japan, the kanji for rain isn’t commonly used in personal names, so there isn’t much variation. However, I’d like to share some words that mean ‘rain’ and sound beautiful to me.
KOSAME (little rain) refers to a light, scattered rain, not a heavy downpour.
SHIGURE (time rain) describes intermittent rain, often seen from autumn to winter.
MURASAME (village rain) translates to ‘village rain,’ but it means rain that varies in intensity. It’s also a famous name for Japanese swords.
SHURIN (autumn rain) is a long, continuous rain at the start of autumn.
Hope it helps!
